About Us

Shika is a UK registered charity aiming to create opportunities for the poorest people in Tanzania through access to education and trade.

Our vision is an equal world where everyone has access to a quality education.  Since we first launched in 2007 we have achieved the following to support this vision:

• Created a sustainable education sponsorship programme supporting nearly 100 of vulnerable children and young people
• Opened the Watoto Wanaweza Centre, (WWC) a holistic after school support centre to assist 110 of our beneficiaries
• Launched our own fashion label ‘oh so Shika’, an income generation programme working with a small group of disadvantaged women who produce on-trend fair trade clothing.  All the profits support our educational programmes

We work closely with experienced members of the local community developing our programmes to ensure we get it right.  We are a small organistion but committed 100% to assisting poor and vulnerable young people get the quality education they need.
